AUSTIN, Texas — It's another breezy day across Central Texas. A Wind Advisory has been issued for Williamson, Travis, Hays, Blanco, Burnet, Llano, Gillespie and Mason counties until 6 p.m. Sustained winds between 20 and 25 miles per hour with gusts as high as 40 miles per hour will be possible.

Heading into the weekend, it now looks like both Saturday and Sunday will stay just about completely dry. Saturday will be sunny and pleasant with highs in the low to mid 60s.

Another cold front will swing through on Sunday, but the computer models have now really backed off on the rain potential. We will leave a 10% shower chance in the forecast but, at this point, Sunday is looking mainly dry with highs near 60.

A stronger cold front is expected to arrive around Tuesday. We're still about a week out, so there is some uncertainty, but computer models suggest widespread rain in the Tuesday into Wednesday timeframe.

We may also need to be on the lookout for a few storms with this system, and perhaps a strong storm or two. The KVUE Storm Team will continue to closely monitor future trends.

Even beyond Wednesday, the long range models are showing continued rain chances even through Thursday and Friday. So it appears rain chances will be in the forecast for most of next week.

Updated totals suggest that one to two inches of rainfall will be possible for much of Central Texas between Tuesday and Thursday of next week. Some areas east of Interstate 35 could even see over 2 inches of rainfall.

Unfortunately, the lowest totals are currently expected across the Hill Country, where the drought conditions remain the worst. These numbers remain subject to change based on how this system evolves.
