McKinney Falls tax office reopens Wednesday after delay due to A/C issue

The McKinney Falls Parkway Travis County tax office will remain closed for a little bit longer due to a broken air conditioning unit.

AUSTIN — Residents in Southeast Travis County hoping to handle business at a tax office closer to their homes can finally do so.

The McKinney Falls Parkway tax office reopened Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 8 a.m.

Initially, the office was supposed to open Sept. 18, but officials pushed the date back due to a faulty air conditioning unit.

The McKinney Falls Parkway tax office has been closed for four months after an investigation into fraudulent activity with license plates at two satellite locations. Several employees were arrested, and the county shut down all satellite locations and only kept the main office on Airport Boulevard open.

The Pflugerville satellite office was the first to reopen on July 24 after the investigation and subsequent arrests.
