Skeletal remains found in Burnet belong to missing woman last seen in April, officials say

Authorities say the discovery of the remains does not change Logan's missing person status and the investigation to her whereabouts will remain open until she is located.

BURNET, Texas — Skeletal remains recovered on Aug. 14 have positively been identified as those of Tina Marie Logan, who went missing in August, the Burnet County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

Officials said the investigation revealed that the time of her death is believed to have been in early April. The cause of her death and the circumstances of her disappearance are still being investigated, according to police.

On Aug. 13, the Burnet County Sheriff's Office began searching for 40-year-old Logan. She was reportedly last seen in Burnet, Texas at 10 a.m. on April 2 at the 29 Tire shop located in the 5000 block of West SH 29.

The sheriff's office said she was last seen driving a 2005 gray Mazda Tribute with Texas license plate KHZ9232. The sheriff's office said the vehicle has a gray and silver skull on the rear windshield, and the driver's side mirror has "Lethal Angel" in pink and silver letters.

On Tuesday Aug. 14, deputies located the vehicle owned by Logan at an unoccupied rural property in Burnet County, officials said Thursday.

County officials said that after finding the missing woman's vehicle, deputies subsequently searched the surrounding area and found skeletal human remains. A judge ordered the remains to be sent to the University of North Texas so forensic anthropologists could examine them, police said.
