AUSTIN — Coming off a 7-6 first season, Texas football Coach Tom Herman is emphasizing "“develop” and “finish” as the key words for the 2018 Longhorns.
Herman laid out the game plan Tuesday morning at the Big 12 Media Days.
He also talked about his quarterback situation, stopping the running game and finding a starting running back.
"I just want to let you know that we are really excited about this season," Herman said. "Our culture is firmly engrained. Our guys are in as good of shape as I've ever seen them. They're hungry to compete in the Big 12."
He said they have a lot at stake this season.
"We are one of the few teams in the country to play 11 Power Five opponents this year," Herman said.
Texas opens the season Sept. 1 against Maryland.
