According to police, the suspects stole the driver's phone and wallet in Austin and then made fraudulent transactions using his card.

AUSTIN — Three suspects have been accused of kidnapping and robbing a UPS driver at gunpoint in Austin.

According to an arrest affidavit, on June 21, police responded to the 1600 block of West Braker Lane after receiving an aggravated robbery and kidnapping call.

Police said the victim was delivering packages in his UPS truck in the 1300 block of Rosewood Ave. when he was confronted by a suspect who had a handgun. The victim reportedly told police the suspect, identified as Christopher Earl Martin, 23, threatened to shoot the victim and demanded that he drive him around.

Police said Martin called another suspect who has been identified as Edward Johnson Jr. According to the affidavit, Johnson gave Martin directions and told him where he wanted the driver to stop and park the UPS truck.

The suspects allegedly told the driver to park in an alley in the 1600 block of West Braker Lane. At that point, Martin allegedly stole the driver's phone and his wallet at gunpoint. Martin then allegedly forced the driver to give him packages that were in the UPS truck.

According to the affidavit, Martin was dissatisfied with what was in the packages and left the scene.

Upon further investigation, a witness called police and allegedly said she was inside the car with Johnson when the UPS driver was robbed. The witness said her name was "Jessica," according to the affidavit. However, police said her phone number was linked to a woman named Michelle Macias, 29.

According to police, the driver gave them an account summary of several fraudulent transactions that were made on the his card.

Police said Martin, Johnson and Macias were captured on several surveillance videos using the driver's card at stores.

On July 10, police reportedly arrested Macias and interviewed her. Macias told police that Johnson planned the robbery and that Martin was "eager" to assist.

Johnson, Martin and Macias have been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and aggravated kidnapping.

According to online records, only Macias was in police custody as of Thursday afternoon.
