Here's your excuse letter to watch Texas baseball’s big game Monday

Here's your excuse letter to get out of your responsibilities and watch Texas baseball on a big screen.

It's a big day for the University of Texas men's baseball team as they compete in the super regional championship game of the NCAA tournament. The game will determine if they continue on to the college world series or if they hang up their bats and hats and prepare to try again next season.

Because of the steep significance of Monday's matchup against Tennessee Tech University, Longhorn Athletic Director Chris Del Conte wants to make sure the baseball squad has as many fans as possible watching the game at noon -- even if they have jobs and other responsibilities.

He wrote a letter that Texas Longhorn fans can show to their jobs or schools to allow them to take some time off to watch one of America's favorite past times.

The letter states:

To whom it may concern,

Please excuse _____ from work on Monday. With Texas Baseball playing for the chance to go to the College World Series in Omaha, we believe it is imperative to be at UFCU Disch-Falk Field or in front of the TV to cheer on the Longhorns. I'm sure you understand how important this moment is for Texas Athletics, and I appreciate your support of Longhorn Nation!

Hook 'Em

Chris Del Conte

Now, there's no guarantee that the letter will do much of anything, but it's worth a shot if you're a big fan of baseball and the Texas Longhorns!
