'It's little things, but they mean everything' | Pageant celebrates women with disabilities

The pageant celebrates women with disabilities who are 18 years of age and older.

SAN MARCOS — Fourteen contestants shined in the third annual Miss Beautiful SMTX pageant on Friday night.

The pageant celebrates women with disabilities who are 18 years of age and older.

“They're important to have because it gives everyone an opportunity,” said Hannah Creasey, and intern with the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department. “[It’s a] chance to do things that everyone else gets to do in their own way and in their own spotlight.”

Contestants showed off their swimwear styles and evening wear, while also answering the question: “What do you like about yourself?”

However, while some were awarded crowns, contestants said they were excited to spend time with their friends.

"My favorite part of the pageant was seeing all my friends up there,” said Stacey Becda, one of the contestants.
