AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Longhorns baseball team has won the 2018 Big 12 Championship after completing a series sweep of the TCU Horned Frogs with a 7-3 win on Saturday.

Texas junior Kody Clemens had a pair of two-run homeruns on Friday and picked up where he left off on Saturday. Clemens hit another homerun Saturday to bring his season total to 19.

TCU tied the ballgame in the 4th inning, but Kamron Fields came on in relief and escaped a bases loaded jam to keep the score 2-2.

A five-run fourth inning helped propel the Longhorns to a 7-2 lead, and they would hold on to win 7-3.

With the win, Texas secured at least a share of the conference championship title -- the program's first regular season Big 12 title since 2011. After Texas Tech defeated Oklahoma State 7-3 on Saturday, Texas became the outright winner of the Big 12 Championship.

Texas (37-18 overall, 17-7 Big 12) will open play at the Big 12 tournament in Oklahoma City as the No. 1 seed. They will face 8-seeded Kansas on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. CT.
