AUSTIN — AUSTIN -- Three teenagers facing capital murder charges were arrested Thursday after they allegedly shot a man to death during a robbery and drug deal in South Austin on Tuesday.

According to police, investigators identified Jaylen Veliz, 18, Cesar Carlos, 18, and Tommy Potter, 17, as the suspects who fired a shot at around 1:45 a.m. at the Willow Brook Apartments on East William Cannon Drive near Interstate Highway 35.

Police said they spoke with a group of people who were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting, some of whom are juveniles.

One witness said the victim, identified as 19-year-old Isaac Christopher Morey, arranged to meet with the suspects at the witness' home to sell the suspects marijuana, according to an arrest affidavit.

According to the documents, Carlos, Veliz and Potter arrived at the apartment shortly thereafter and pointed at least two guns at everyone inside. Police said the men demanded the marijuana from Morey, and the victim complied and handed it over to them.

While leaving the apartment, one of the three men stopped and fired shots at Morey, according to APD.

Austin-Travis County EMS performed CPR while transporting Morey to South Austin Medical Center, but police said he died at the hospital.

According to the documents, investigators used the social media app Snapchat to identify the suspects in the shooting because a witness admitted to being in contact with Potter, who used the name "king_tlee59."

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Potter on a capital murder warrant. According to police, Potter admitted to robbing Morey at gunpoint and shared that Veliz was in the apartment with a rifle. Potter said he and Carlos ran out of the apartment after the incident.

The arrest documents don't make it clear which suspect fired the exact shot that killed Morey.

Carlos' and Potter's bond was set at $750,000, while Veliz' bond was set at $1,000,000, the APD said.
