AUSTIN — AUSTIN -- A woman in her 30s was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash Saturday morning in the 8100 block of the southbound service road of Interstate 35, according to police.

On Tuesday, police identified her as Dystany Farrias, 31.

ATCEMS said it responded to the crash -- which occurred just north of Slaughter Lane and south of William Cannon Drive -- at nearly 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police said preliminary investigation shows that Farrias was walking southbound near the right shoulder but partially in the lane of travel when a 2001 Chevrolet pickup struck her with the right, front quarter panel area of the vehicle.

Police said the driver did stop to render aid and did not sustain any injuries. Farrias was pronounced dead on scene.

Investigation is ongoing, and police ask anyone with more information to contact them at (512) 974-8544.
