AUSTIN — AUSTIN -- From movies to parties to paintings, Austinites can celebrate Selena Quintanilla's birthday in a variety of ways.
The Latina icon, who brought several hits to the radio including "Como La Flor," "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom," "Dreaming of You" and more, would have turned 47 this April 16.

Last month also marked the 22nd anniversary of the Tejano superstar's death, but her legacy still lives on within many.
Here are some ways to celebrate the singer's birthday:
Monday, April 16 - Selena Quintanilla's Birthday Celebration at Gabriela's Downtown (900 East Seventh Street) is a free party for all ages that includes Selena music as well as a viewing of the "Selena" movie.
Monday, April 16 - "Selena" showings at Alamo Drafthouse at various locations throughout Austin. Show times begin at 7 p.m.
Monday, April 16 - Selena-themed painting class at Painting with a Twist (6705 US 290, #501) from 7 to 9 p.m. Painters can expect to create a painting of Selena as well as door prizes and games during the two-hour class.
Tuesday, April 17 - Homo La Flor at at Barbarella starting at 10 p.m. (615 Red River Street). A seventh annual dance party tribute to Selena.
