STAR Flight responds to pin-in collision near Lago Vista

Two patients were injured after a pin-in collision near Lago Vista Monday night, ATCEMS said.

STAR Flight and Travis County Emergency Services responded to a pin-in collision on FM 1431 Monday evening.

Medics said the collision occurred at the 19930 block of FM 1431. Two patients were treated, one of whom was pinned in. Trauma Alert was declared on one of the patients, who was unconscious.

A male patient, estimated to be in his 20s, suffered serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. A female patient, estimated to be in her 80s, suffered critical, potentially life-threatening injuries. Both were transported to Round Rock Medical Center.

The collision occurred around 7:03 p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS said.

DPS reported that it was a two-vehicle crash.

ATCEMS said to expect heavy delays in the area.
