Police searching for shooter after man found dead in East Austin

A man was found with traumatic injuries at a home in East Austin.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding a shooter after a 20-year-old man was found dead Monday morning with gunshot wounds.

Austin police said they were dispatched at 6:05 a.m. March 5 to a residence at 5605 Springdale Rd., near the Little Walnut Creek Greenbelt and Pecan Springs Park, for a reported shooting call.

The man, identified by police as Damarcio White, was pronounced deceased at the scene, Austin-Travis County EMS said. No other people were found injured.

Police said they do not believe it was a random act.

Officials said they do not have information for a possible suspect in the case.

Investigators do not believe there is threat to the public in regards to this incident, police said.
