Authorities have identified the man who was killed in a crash along Highway 71 Tuesday.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the man -- identified as Raul Rivas Rodriguez -- was traveling eastbound on South Highway 71 when it failed to control its speed and went into a side skid into incoming traffic, striking the front of an oncoming vehicle. EMS officials said they were called to the scene at 2:45 p.m.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene, while one adult was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center and two children were sent to Dell Children's Medical Center.
