The 2018 James Beard Awards Gala released its semifinalist nominees, and some Austin names and restaurants made the cut!
Here are the local James Beard Award nominees:
Best New Restaurant - Kemuri Tatsu-ya
Outstanding Pastry Chef - Laura Sawicki, Launderette
Outstanding Wine, Beer, or Spirits Professional - Jeffrey Stuffings, Jester King Brewery
Best Chef: Southwest - Kevin Fink, Emmer & Rye; Michael Fojtasek, Olamaie; Bryce Gilmore, Barley Swine
The James Beard Foundation said it would release the final nominees via the company's Twitter feed on Wednesday, March 14, beginning at 8:30 a.m. (CST).
The 2018 James Beard Awards Gala will take place on Monday, May 7, at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
