On one of the most romantic days, some Austin couples are choosing to celebrate in a romantic way -- by getting married!

And like Valentine's Day, it's no secret weddings can be expensive.

The average cost of a wedding in Austin is about $28,000. In San Antonio, $26,000, and the national average? Between $33,000 and $35,000.

But some happy couples in Austin celebrated their wedding for free!

"I'm very excited, a little nervous, but I'm very happy,” said Nicole Rainey.

Nicole and Edward Rainey got married on Valentine’s Day at Loot Rentals.

"We always planned on getting married on Valentine's Day, so it just worked out,” said Edward.

Couples could get free music, food, drinks, a shoe shining, photography and makeup.

"When you have a toddler, no time for yourself, so this feels really great,” said Nicole.

“Been waiting a long time, so I was glad we found this ... just kind of fell into our laps,” added Edward.

In a ceremony full of friends and family, the couple of more than five years tied the knot.

"I pledge to you Nicole,” said Edward.

"I take you to be my partner,” said Nicole.

"With this ring as a symbol,” said Edward.

"I marry you,” said Nicole.

And the price tag on this unforgettable day for the new Mr. and Mrs. Rainey is something to really celebrate. It's part of the Free Love event put on by Loot Rentals.

"We wanted to really give back to the community,” said co-owner Anna Crelia.

Co-owners Rhoda Brimberry and Anna Crelia teamed up with vendors from around the area to offer 16 free weddings on Valentine's Day.

"Every wedding is on the 30, and we're churning them out,” said Brimberry.

They had more than 50 people apply.

"It's just an opportunity for us to give back and give back some beautiful to the community,” said Brimberry.

The duo helps with about 500 events a year, many of those weddings.

But they feel the celebration is what you make it, and the love you put in it.

"I actually did not have one of these fancy weddings before, and it was still just as beautiful,” said Brimberry. "It doesn't matter what kind of space you're in, you can still have a beautiful event."

So for couples like the Raineys, they're happy they didn't have to empty their pocketbooks, to fill their hearts with love.

"I feel complete, like this should have been done awhile ago, it just feels right," said Nicole. "It just seemed like a really good opportunity, we've actually always wanted to get married on Valentine's Day because we celebrate our anniversary on Valentine's Day, so it just seemed perfect."

"Everyone has that same magic about them, everyone's just so happy and joyous,” said Brimberry.
